The last poem I ever wrote was subtle and sweet:
It spoke of gardens where
cherry blossoms fill the air
with effluvia so sweet as to provoke tears.
It spoke of swamps where frogs croak
and recroak their last serenade
and birds sing their first aubade.
It spoke of complete silence, too, empty and constant,
That gave way to an even emptier, more constant now.
