Mere toys

Throw out the keys to closets where
Apparitions haunt you night by night;
Bring out the toys that delight the care
Of youth who never dared to play light.

And as infantile emotion piles and piles
In stacks not-so-neat-placed in corners,
They become, as mere toys, the fables
That tell others the joys of their owners.
